How to give

When Jesus Christ made miracles, he used the material that is available. He used the water in jars to make wine in the wedding of Cana and even mud to heal a deaf man.

In today's Gospel, when the people were hungry, Jesus told his disciples, "Give them some food yourselves." The people gave food in the form of fish and bread. Jesus blessed the food, and the food became many and satisfied the hungry people.

In the mass whenever the priest blesses or consecrates the host and wine, Jesus becomes part of the host and wine. This is called transubstation. We believe that Jesus is part of us so we live in accord with God's will.

Dream of a court vacation

I dreamed today that I was with my family and cousins at a hotel courtyard in Palawan or Baguio. Then I saw that our next door neighbors were the Supreme Court officers and their families, We were all happy.

How to start with your purpose

Today I read a book by Bo Sanchez entitled How to Change Your Life in 30 Days. He teaches the 4 steps to transform our future: Purpose, Plan, Practice, and Patterns. To find our burning, powerful, explosive "why" or purpose, we need a great purpose. It has to be emotional, and it has to be enormous.

After reading the whole book in the bookstore, I decided to buy the book to help change my life. I feel bad lately because I am behind in my work. I have not made a tutorial or blog post in a while for my virtual career. I have less than a thousand pesos cash at hand. I sleep after midnight and for less than six hours per day.

As you can see, there are many things that I want to change in my life. That's why this book is timely because I can start on June 1, 2016 and continue for the whole month of June. Then, you and I will continue changing our lives for the better.

First thing is to find an emotional purpose. My burning, powerful, explosive "why" is to have a child. This is an emotional purpose for me because I am so afraid to marry and have children. I am single and do not have a boyfriend, so it would be a miracle for me to have a child. I had depression while in college so I am scared of having postpartum depression and being a bad wife and mother. I still don't know why I want to have a child. Maybe it's simply biological, but it's definitely emotional. So that fits as a great purpose.

Second, the purpose must be enormous. If I have a child, I want to build and live in a better world with my child. In fact, I should not be selfish. I should help build a better country so that all children that I meet would live in a better situation than they used to be. After the Philippines is completely peaceful, equally developed, and strongly united, we can also help other people and nations. Maybe that's why I studied law: to help our fellow Filipinos. This fits as an enormous purpose.

My purpose is to bless and build a better world for my child. So in everything I do, whether in law practice or virtual career, for my health or my finances, among other things, I must remember my purpose: bless and build a better world for my child.

How to learn from example

Today we saw the landing pages and presentations of our classmates in Instant Virtual Skills. The design is so professional and amazing that it makes this blog look like child's play. One day, I will get there. I just have to take it one post at a time.

How to change for Christ

Today is Pentecost Sunday. This is the feast that celebrates when the Church was born. After Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross, he rose again from the dead and ascended into heaven. Ten days after Jesus went up to heaven, the Holy Spirit descended into the disciples amd followers of Jesus in the form of a strong wind and through tongues of fire.

These disciples changed after they received the Holy Spirit. After Jesus died, they ran away and hid themselves. When Jesus rose from the dead, they did not believe at first that he was indeed alive. After Jesus went up to heaven, they waited for him to come. Instead the Holy Spirit blessed them and became part of them. As a result, they became more courageous, witnessed for Jesus Christ, and even gave up their lives to spread the Gospel or Good News.

Like the disciples, we too can change. If we are fearful and unsure, like me, we can pray and ask God to bless us in our mission.

How to vote for change

Last Monday, May 9, 2016, I voted in the Philippine national and local elections. Not only did I vote that day, I also monitored a polling center and served as a poll watcher in two precincts.

How can I make time for my assignments

Question

Hi! I work from 9:30 a.m. (8:30 a.m. if I am outside) to around 8:30 p.m. I get home at 9:00 p.m. I sleep at 1 a.m. I'm not doing any assignments, watching any webinars, or posting anything on my blog recently. I reviewed my unstoppable reason (my mother), but it seems that I don't care any more about virtual careers. I just read the Facebook group, and that's it. My mother even told me that I might be doing too much. How can I make time or enjoy doing assignments for virtual careers? Thank you!

Virtual Careers Book

Answer

If you enjoy your life, and everything is perfect, you don't have to go into a virtual career. Just carry on with whatever work you have, and enjoy your family. You don't need a virtual career to be rich or happy.

If you want to have a virtual career while holding a full-time job, you can set aside 15 minutes each day to do something that you love that is also related to your virtual career. If you like writing, compose a short paragraph and post it on your blog in 15 minutes. If you like art, make a simple Canva poster in 15 minutes and upload it in your gallery. Whatever you are doing, just stop when you reach 15 minutes, finalize whatever you have done, and post it on your website.

Start small, and continue everyday. Set an alarm if you want to develop a good habit at the same time each day. If you are unable to do something for one day, just resolve to do the same the next day. If you find yourself not doing some habit in a long time, probably it was not important at all for you. Just accept the reality, and move on to something that you enjoy doing.
