Clean up and set up

Today we cleaned things in the bedroom because our relatives will be coming tomorrow. I just put books on the shelves, put things in the cabinet, and set up the desktop computer. Here are pictures:

Celebrate life

Yesterday we had Courts of Law. We won in volleyball, dodgeball, and futsal. Then we went to Jam and Je's wedding. It was beautiful and amazing. Today I just studied for civil law review and conflicts of law. I am still sleeping late. Good luck!

Stay alive

Today I watched the Hunger Games. It is so amazing. I like all the action scenes. I even jumped in my seat when I saw the poison, the baboons, and the lightning. I highly recommend it. The ending has a cliffhanger because this is just the second book. I hope to watch the succeeding movies next year and the year after next.

In other news, we finally met our professor for intellectual property law. She lectured that we have intellectual property law for the common good and there is conflict mainly because of access and control of intellectual property. She gave us an assignment for next week.

For criminal law review, our professor just lectured to us and narrated the cases without notes. He really remembers the facts and the rulings. He even told us about jueteng and criticized some of the decisions.

Then I went home and saw that we have new furniture. It is nice to be home.

Yesterday I recited in private international law and answered all the questions. Today I recited in civil law review and it was a failure. I was not responsive and gave unrealistic answers. We were only discussing the provisions, and there were no examples or cases yet. The professor gestured me to sit down. At least I took a break from reciting. This means that I have to memorize and understand the provisions and master the cases. I just have to prepare harder. Know all the rules and exceptions. We can do this.

Be a Time Warrior

I am reading Time Warrior by Steve Chandler. The first thing I got is to do it now or never. If I don't do a thing now, I either never do it or I write down the time that I should do it. The second thing I learned is to give more time for myself to think and to be creative. Reduce distractions and give youtself more time to solve problems. The third thing I got is to make process goals. Make brief goals that you can achieve in the short-term. This is a great book for everybody because everyone has to make time for what is important to oneself.

Study while sick

This week I have been sick with the cold. I took NasaThera (phenylpropanolamine) twice a day and later discovered that it increases the risk of stroke in women so I stopped it. We had a lecture in commercial law review, a quiz and recitation in civil law review, and a lecture in medical jurisprudence. I read the cases in the book on conflicts of law today. I just rested this afternoon.

Begin school

Today is the first day of the second semester. I have two classes on Thursdays. Today our medical jurisprudence professor did not show up, so we had a free cut. We also met our professor in private international law who also taught persons and family relations and is also my professor in supervised legal research. We won't meet next week so she just told us to read her book up to chapter 3. I have more time to study and research.

I went home and watched the Senate hearing with Janet Lim Napoles. She just answered with "I don't know" or "I invoke my right against self incrimination." It would have been so funny if it weren't so tragic. As we learned in taxation, taxes are the lifeblood of government. Then we see billions of pesos being wasted by our government officials and corrupt persons. I hope this would change with us.

Start a blog

Today is a productive day. We went to the bank and I paid my tuition. Then we went to another bank, withdrew money, and deposited money in another bank. We had our car repaired and ate at the new Chow King branch. Then we went home and ate lunch.

After lunch, I checked my email and saw the Start a Blog Challenge. I signed up and challenged myself to write everyday. I plan to write what I learn everyday in law school and in real life. Since I have to write at least 500 words per week, I can write at least 100 words per post. My goal for this month is just to write everyday. Next month, I can write more useful blog posts.

Later I will write a review of related literature for my supervised legal research. My topic is support for illegitimate children. Tomorrow I will start school. Good luck to me!

Visit and win

This week we visited my grandfather's grave at Libingan ng mga Bayani and our grandparents' graves in the province. Today we also won Php 1,720 ($43) at the lotto. Tomorrow I will enroll for the second semester. My Form 5A says that I am graduating. Good luck!
